Twitter Direct Message By Liz Lichti

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Do you ever wonder how ‘Twitter Elite” (the Twitter accounts with the most followers) are able to keep up? I mean how do they gain such a large seemingly targeted group of followers and yet still manage to maintain the all important relationship with a DM or Direct Message?

To be perfectly honest, I am not an authority on Twitter by any means. However I have gleaned enough from spending my share of late nighters following, tweeting and stopping to look at all the shiny things people are offering to clue into a few things. Also discovering the new definition of ‘insanity’: thinking you can get to know all your followers and still have a life!

Is there a way to attract thousands of followers, tweet regularly, direct message and maintain relationships on auto pilot? I know others are asking this very question because it seems as though every other person on Twitter has a link in their message to automatically increase your followers in one week, one month, 60 days, while you sleep,… yada, yada, yada.

Well there must be, because on my nightly travels through ‘twitterspace’, I see a group of Twitter Elites, not only jet propelling their number of followers in days, but they are making a pile of money by turning their followers into paying customers! They successfully attracted a colossal number of targeted potential buyers for their business within DAYS!

Not only did I find these Twitter giants, but with some snooping around I found out how they are doing it too!

With the right program I believe you can be among the top most successful Twitter Direct Message Masters and get big league results on autopilot.

If you wish to skip the research part you can check out the gold mine product that I just happened to stumble on. It’s new and absolutely cutting edge and the proof is in the results. I was skeptical as always, but the people promoting it were real people like you and me doubling their followers within one week, often days and making money doing it.

Now, I’m not a die hard Twit, but I was impressed. I thought this information was worth my time to share it, but you be the judge.

Connecting With People on Twitter and Facebook - How to Use Social Networking to Enhance Your Life By Connie Ragen Green

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Connecting with others on Twitter is good for so many reasons. I work full time on the internet, but I am also active in my local community. I have met many new people while tweeting, and I usually end up meeting them in person if they live nearby. So while my primary focus is on meeting new prospects and joint venture partners, meeting people who live close by is also important to me.

Today our speaker at my Rotary Club cancelled at the last minute. I am in charge of arranging programs right now, so I had to think quickly about what to do. I have a large following on Twitter, so I sent out a tweet asking if anyone was available to come and speak. Within five minutes I had five responses. My first choice for a speaker arrived at our club two hours later, in plenty of time to speak to the group on her topic.

The point I am making here is that you can use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter or a variety of reasons. Don’t allow yourself to think that you can only use them for what you have always been doing. Use some creative thinking and ideas to see how else you can benefit from connecting with other people online.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing you have always done and expecting a different outcome. I challenge you to come up with some new ways to use social networking sites to do more business, help your community, or to make a difference somewhere in the world. Even though most of us are online to do business, business is just one small part of who we are.

Download a free teleseminar on building your online business by visiting http://www.EbookWritingandMarketingSecrets.com to learn how to write articles, blog, become involved in social networking and learn the technology needed to build a profitable online business. Twitter Tips - How to Create an Interactive Twitter Following By Asher Aw

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Twitter is getting more and more popular but unfortunately, more social media “leeches” are getting in to abuse the system and try to make money with it. Twitter’s meant to be a way for people to connect with each other and in this article, I’m going to show you how you can create a real following instead of being like the leeches who don’t do anything except try to sell.

1. Create More Open Tweets

Chatting in Twitter is called “tweeting”. So when you have an open tweet, you use “@(the person’s twitter account name) (message)”. By using that, you send a message to that person. Direct messages (DMs) are tweets sent in private - you can do that by using “D (person’s twitter account name) (message)” - but take note, you can only send direct messages when the other person is following you.

2. Ask Open Ended Questions

Try not to ask something like true or false questions, yes or no questions. Ask really open ended ones like “What do you think of (whatever)?” or “Who else thinks that (whatever)?”

When people see that, they can answer it. People who try to sell on Twitter like to ask questions like “How to make money? (link)” or “I make money easily using this! (link)” - avoid stuff like that at all costs.

If you have to send people to a site for selling something, please do it privately.

3. Jump In On Other Twitter Conversations

The great thing about Twitter is that you can actually communicate with other Tweeple on Twitter. When someone is discussing about your favorite author, for example, you can jump in and tweet about it.

Use the trends in Twitter to find out what’s hot on Twitter and to make more connections. You can find some really interesting people when they start talking about the trends on Twitter.

Not to mention since Twitter is so interactive, you can easily find up-to-date information by asking around what’s going on and why is there a certain trend that’s hot. Tweeple will tweet you the answers really quickly.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this article. This is an article that I have written for people who like to use Twitter to create real, meaningful relationships with other people.

How You Can Exploit The Power of Twitter By Quinton Carroll

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Twitter is a wonderful social networking site. It is basically used by millions and millions of people to keep in touch with their friends and peers, but there is more to it than you think.

Twitter is not only a social networking tool, but it is also a great way for companies to keep in touch with their client base, and an even better way for web based marketers to promote and show off their products.

Yes, I am serious. There are thousands of people doing it right now. They are marketing their products online in many places, and Twitter is one such place.

Since the inception of Twitter, there have been many online marketers making more and more money every month, by advertising and promoting their products on Twitter. Some claim to have made up to 10 times the money they were making before they started on Twitter.

They do this mostly by getting interested people to follow them, and then to get those followers to purchase the products they promote. They don’t force them to buy anything. Cleaver marketing techniques come into play here. They become known as gurus in the field they are promoting in, and when they suggest something to buy, their followers happily go off and buy the product.

This doesn’t mean that the Twitter marketers will promote just about anything. They hand pick and select only what they feel are the best products to promote, and go about it very well. If they are unethical about what they do, they may make a sale here and there, but they won’t have any repeat customers.

Twitter is here to stay, and if you aren’t promoting there, you are wasting a very valuable tool that could cost you millions of dollars if you don’t know how to do it well.

What Are the Most Important Social Networking Websites? By Javier Salces

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

It seems that every week, there’s a new blogging phenomenon or social networking site that everyone is using. Blogging, Facebook, and LinkedIn are common terms around the Internet, and though these types of sites started for the general public, businesses use them to build client lists and stay in touch with clients and colleagues. For example, by now, you’ve probably heard people talking about “tweeting”. They ask if you tweet, or mention their own tweeting, or have an RSS feed to their tweeting on their website. But what is tweeting? Quite simply, if you’re tweeting, it means you’re posting on Twitter.

Twitter and how it’s used*

Twitter is a free micro-blogging site that lets anyone sign up and post mini-entries and follow their friends’ tweeting. It’s similar to many free blog hosting sites except that, with Twitter, your blog posts are limited to no more than 140 characters (including spaces). To use Twitter, all you have to do is register on their website and start posting. Some people post as often as hourly, while others post once a day, or even less often.

How Twitter can benefit your business*

Twitter has lots of advantages to use with your business. Since posts are limited to no more than 140 characters, it’s a way for you to give quick updates to your clients without them having to read through a long email or traditional blog post. They’re able to get the information they need quickly. Many people also use Twitter to help them build their client lists, and follow clients to get to know them a little better.

Twitter is an easy way to keep in touch, but by using it for your business, it can be a great tool to ensure that clients have business updates, build your client list, and even use your clients’ tweets to get to know them a little better. As with many opportunities like it, Twitter has numerous possibilities for the benefit of your business. All it takes is registering for a free account, some creative thinking, and 140 characters or less.

Twitter - List Building Made Easy By Javier Salces

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Between blogging and social networking sites, there are lots of opportunities for businesses to stay connected online. Twitter, for example, is a free micro blogging site that people use to share thoughts in 140 characters or less. Many businesses are using Twitter to stay in touch with clients and give them updates about their business. Another way you can use it is to help you with list building.

Getting started*

The first thing to do, of course, is sign up for a Twitter account. It’s quick and easy (and free) through their website. It’s also a good idea to use your business email when you register so any email updates, such as new followers, come to your business email account. Once you have your account, you can start tweeting (submitting Twitter posts). Though you’re limited by 140 characters or less, you can use Twitter to give news and information about your business, directing readers to your business’s website for more information. Be sure to post often, since many people who use Twitter are frequent readers and tweeters.

Utilize your profile*

With Twitter, you’re given 160 characters to use as a bio of yourself or your business. This is an under used aspect of Twitter that can also help your business. When you create your bio, be sure to include the purpose of your business, or a way for potential clients to contact you outside of Twitter for more information. If changes are made to your business, update your profile. It’s yet another way for people to know what’s going on in your business.

Contact new followers right away*

As you use Twitter, people will begin to follow you. This means they’ll see your updates on their own Twitter home page for easy reading. When you get a new email notification that someone is following you, be sure to send them a direct message through Twitter, thanking them for following you, introducing your business, and giving them any contact information they need. They’ll appreciate it, and it gives them another point of contact.

Though Twitter was created as another blogging technique, it has developed into a great tool for businesses. And with a few simple steps, you can use your tweets to list build and grow your business!

To Twitter Or Not to Twitter That is the Question? Or Better Still - How to Twitter By Simon Marlow

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

In my previous article on Twitter I focused on the advantages of Twitter as a resource tool and some of the ‘cool’ products you can use to gain productivity. But many people have asked why bother twittering either from a social networking or business point of view. But first let me explain what twitter is; first and foremost it is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. It is not an eBay nor is it a place for direct article or product marketing. It is a place to build your social network through interesting tweets and the place to sell your products through subtle headlining using the art of subconscious influence. So the main reason to join is that you want to influence, make friends and expand your business. Here is a brief list of other reasons why you should twitter and what you gain from doing it!

Reason 1: Twitter is a great tool to practice headlining since you have only 140 characters per update. This really makes you think what you want to say and how you want to say it. Think about it, you only have a few words to get your point across and get them to click your link to your website or to reply to you. This makes Twitter fertile ground to develop your headlining capabilities either to attract people to your social network and/or to develop your advertisement skills all in real time!

Reason 2: Do you know how to get across who you are in 140 characters? The ‘Bio’ section only allows you 140 characters. This really helps you focus on being brief about who you are and why people should want to get to know you or why to buy from you. This ‘Bio’ and the quality of your tweets is the key to your success and influence on twitter which nicely dove-tales with the next two reasons.

Reason 3: Similar to bygone ages where tribes or clans used to exist to give like minded people protection or common reasons for staying together, twitter with its following concept is very much like the tribe or clan. People follow you because they like what you have to say and how you say it (or what you ‘tweet’ in twitter language). This provides you with the opportunity to develop your influencing (leadership) skills from either a business or social perspective. People want to follow someone they trust and respect, its human nature and many, many people want to be lead. So here is a great opportunity for you to brand yourself whilst developing your leadership, a win-win situation!

Reason 4: You can turn followers into perspective buyers without the headache of mailing lists. Instant list building with like minded people, wow what a concept, now you instantly have targeted traffic with potentially high conversions! From a social networking point of view you can quickly meet like minded people allowing you to expand your sphere of influence into a huge resource pool of ideas.

Reason 5: Kenneth Wu (emailcopywritter on twitter) has developed his sparks theory that when you put like minded people together and under the right conditions you can get an explosive growth of ideas that has huge marketing potential. He also states Twitter through social networking can provide the platform for change, both of which positions you as a ‘mover and shaker’. You gain incredible influence and respect both across the business and within social networks.

Reason 6: Twitter works similarly to the human mind, namely in short sharp bursts of focused interest. Most people enjoy variety and can quickly scan across tweets to find their areas of interest without wading through masses of text. Use this human concept to build your influence and show the breadth of your understanding in your or any ‘field’ of human diversity and interest. Unlike other social networks twitter has huge diversity, a brilliant place to try out new and untested ideas quickly.

Reason 7: Informal setting, like a golf club membership, you can make deals, joint ventures and strategic alliances in an open and safe environment. As you build your tribe, clan or membership you have a trusted set of allies willing to work with you and so are more open to deals social or business.

Reason 8: This is a great tool for basic market research. Twitter itself tracks trends but additional tools like tweetdeck, tweetbeep, tweetlater and many others all help you manage the vast source of new and emerging needs.

A last point, one of caution, it is very easy to waste a lot of time on twitter if you do not have a clear strategy or reason for using twitter. If you use it as social networking then make sure your tweets are of interest to your tribe. If you are using Twitter to expand your business then make sure you use subtle advertising and do not over tweet your products. Kenneth Wu has a great course on twitter that shows you how to use twitter to your benefit. You can find this course on either of my web sites listed below.

I hope you found this article of value and you will join me on Twitter. My username on Twitter is simonsayzzz and I would love it if you join, and send me a message and say hello. I do not think you will be disappointed especially if you are looking for people to meet and you are like me, hate writing long winded hellos! And if you are sparked with what I have to say then follow me on twitter and you may find what you are looking for on my websites, you will find my sites unusually constructed, hopefully interesting. Hope to hear from you on twitter and do say hello to Kenneth Wu!

Everything You Wanted to Know About Twitter But Were Afraid to Ask By Alfred Trabulsi

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Twitter is one of many social media platforms available online. Yet, it has received a tremendous amount of attention in recent months, as it seems that every celebrity, media outlet and business owner is utilizing Twitter in one way or another. Millions of people are beginning to capitalize on the many business opportunities that Twitter profiles present. Are you going to be one of them?

What is Twitter? Twitter is a social media outlet that allows users to stay connected in real time. The platform began in 2006, although it was not until the past 12-18 months that the quantity of users and national/international recognition began to take off. One of the reasons that users love Twitter is that the platform is simple. Instead of allowing users to build elaborate profiles, Twitter centers around simple, short postings that are shared with members, the entire Twitterverse and a member’s list of followers.

While users can customize the look and feel of their Twitter profiles, the overall gist of the platform is simplicity. Users can share thoughts, ask questions, share information, post external links, share personal comments and more. These short posts, or Tweets, can be added online, from your mobile phone and by using other social media applications. While the social media outlet began as a simple way for individual to communicate, it is now a popular marketing tool used by businesses large and small.

Twitter and the Rest of the Social Media World One of the best things about Twitter is the ability to integrate it into your other social media profiles. For example, Facebook offers a Twitter application. Whenever you make a Twitter post, it is shared with your Facebook friends. Almost every major social networking website offers a similar application option. You can add Twitter feeds to all of your social media profiles, your company website and your blogs as well. By connecting all of your online worlds together, you are increasing your overall marketing opportunities. Every social media platform has its place online.

The key is integrating them all seamlessly so that your marketing workload is reduced. Just like everything online, Twitter has evolved. If you have not already joined the other Twitter users, now is your chance. Take time to learn about the platform, how to set up profiles, how to post information and which type of information you should include in your posts.

Social Networking Sites - How to Best Use Them For Marketing and Business By Mike Heesen

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Social Networking has become a very effective way to market your products or services to targeted groups of people. The best thing about it is that, it is for free folks! I highly recommend you start social networking soon and make this one of your new marketing methods, in case you are not already doing so. There are some things you should be aware of though, which I will talk about later in this article.

Firstly, I would like to list my favourite top 10 Social Networking sites. These are also the most popular ones available on the internet:

1. Facebook

In my opinion the best social networking platform, and is growing rapidly! Besides finding long lost friends it is also an excellent site for attracting leads, meeting like minded folk and networking.

2. MySpace

Also a very popular site, and is used for many different purposes, such as blogging, music and business.

3. YouTube

This is a little bit like the Facebook set up, but then for the use of posting videos. Excellent for promoting your business and branding yourself. Search engines love video, and people love watching videos instead of having to read.

4. Twitter

This site is all about, ‘What Are You Doing Right Now?’. You can post messages to the world, called ‘Tweets’. Your message should not exceed 140 characters.

5. Squidoo

With Squidoo, you create a page about whatever it is you like. This is what they call a ‘Lens’. A perfect way to promote your services and or products. Create a ‘Lens’ for each product that you sell, and tell the world all about it.

6. Skype

I love Skype. This is a brilliant piece of software that allows you to communicate for free and start networking with like minded people.

7. Xanga

I recently found this one, and joined. You can create a blog here, share pictures, videos, links and more. Good for networking and meeting people.

8. LinkedIn

This platform is more for professional social networking. On this site you promote your business, yourself, your skills etc… . I have found many folk on this site whom I contracted for some specialised tasks I needed to get done in my line of work.

9. AOL HomeTown

Another networking site, for socialising, meeting new people and making friends.

10. MSN Groups

Start social networking in this community, especially designed for people that are using MSN.

Now that I have listed my top 10 fave ones, you are probably wondering as to how you can use these sites for marketing your business. Let me explain…

How do I use social networking sites for marketing my business?

First of all, keep in mind that these are all SOCIAL networking sites. Don’t just post messages to promote your business. The way I utilise these sites is to brand myself as an expert within my work industry. Post interesting things, golden nuggets, but also fun things. You are after all, a real person, with a life, a family and entertainment. Offer people help, tips and pieces of information that are interesting to them.
