The Selection of Keywords matters. For example a Key word equity loan, it can be used in 2 ways to gain attention that is equity loan & loan equity.

The Best SEO Sites will mostly have in their domain or sub domain name, one of the primary keywords. The secondary keywords can be used in the filename or directory name.

The Primary keyword could have a short content based on it & inserted in the main page. This can be seen in the search results easily.

The important keywords can also be used in the headings or the Heading tags like H1, H2 etc.All suggestive to reduce the size of the heading using cascading style tags.

Sometimes few search engines give importance to those Meta tags. So, including few of those in the document heading may prove advantageous in the ranking.

We find most sites using images as navigation menu, suggestive to use text that gets faster response. One can attach an attractive keyword to those images.

By inserting few important keywords in the hyperlinks can also add to SEO.

Indexing of the site map is important for SEO because the Search engine crawlers scan or find these indexes.

Make sure the pages download faster, an ideal SEO page size is less than 50 kb.Do not allow the visitors to wait for longer time in getting access to your site pages. They may move to the next site, it the download takes long.

Reduce the maximum use of images, flash works, and java scripts in the content. The search engine crawlers take difficulty in getting your site. Avoid the spamming of the site by using methods like doorway pages or cloaking. One can get penalized by the search engine on finding the site to have spam.

The Submission of the site in all the leading search engines like Yahoo, Google etc should be done only once. Automatic submission of the site is not required by using any scripts.

RSS Feed feature should be present in the site, if the contents of its pages change more often.

If your link is present in other Websites, then it’s an advantage in the area of SEO.

Planning & designing of the site should be made after making a research on the competitive sites.

Article exchanges are also a good move. Like one published a article about you site in their Content. In turn you mention a small article about them in your site. Such inter-exchange of link also helps in the optimization of site & gain in traffic.

What Would Google Do?/by Jeff Jarvis (Author).A bold and vital book that asks and answers the most urgent question of today: What Would Google Do?
In a book that’s one part prophecy, one part thought experiment, one part manifesto, and one part survival manual, internet impresario and blogging pioneer Jeff Jarvis reverse-engineers Google—the fastest-growing company in history—to discover forty clear and straightforward rules to manage and live by. At the same time, he illuminates the new worldview of the internet generation: how it challenges and destroys, but also opens up vast new opportunities. His findings are counterintuitive, imaginative, practical, and above all visionary, giving readers a glimpse of how everyone and everything—from corporations to governments, nations to individuals—must evolve in the Google era.
